Day 1 – Moshi
The tour will begin at any time when the hikers arrive at the Moshi. In addition, you can explore around the area as long as you get back in time to meet the group.
Day 2 – Moshi to Machame Camp
On the second day of the trip, there will be a hike over the lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. You can settle and scan the slopes of this majestic mountain to Machame Camp for about an hour. Then the hike will start at the Machame Gate. There is a rainforest zone making the trails wet and muddy. There are also black and white colobus monkeys and exotic birds. This adventure end at the Machame Campsite located above the rainforest.
Day 3 – Simba Camp to Shira 2 Camp
The adventure on the third day is a hike through the lower alpine moorland to the Shira 2 Camp where you can observe the Kibo Peak. There is a steep ascent towards the edge of the forest.
Day 4 – Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp
This involves a hike to the Barranco Camp through the Lava Tower. There is a great view of the Western Breach, as well as the Breach Wall. This wall surrounds the camp giving an amazing view of the Kibo massif and hanging glaciers.
Day 5 – Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
The fifth day is the hike to Karanga camp through the Barranco Wall and the enormous alpine desert of the Karanga Valley. The fantastic view of Kilimanjaro from the Heim Glacier is at hand.
Day 6 – Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
This journey will take 3 to 4 hours through the trail of the dry, barren and cold alpine desert. The Barafu Camo lies on a narrow ridge with no barriers from the wind. It also features a beautiful view of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Familiarize yourself with the area to avoid any untoward incident later on.
Day 7 – Barafu Camp to Mweka Camp
On the seventh day, the hike continues at night to reach the summit through the Stella Point. Then, the beautiful sunrise awaits before descending to Mweka Camp. The wake up call is at 11 pm. The terrain is rocky and difficult passing between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers before arriving at the destination. By afternoon, you should be able to reach the Mweka hut.
Day 8 – Mweka to Moshi
This is the continuation of descent through the forested, lower slopes to Moshi. Also, There is a cooperative that provides education for girls. They have a shop where you can buy souvenirs and speak with the management of the cooperative if you want to reach out.
Day 9 – Moshi
This is the departure day and you may leave at any time.
